Over the past five years, we have shared countless adventures — moving from village to village, city to city, and country to country — collecting memories that we will carry with us forever. Somewhere along the way, we discovered that we had found not only a partner in each other, but also a best friend.

There is something that has always felt like home to us: the sea.

We first met at the beach, and ever since then, the ocean has quietly followed us through our story — showing up in moments big and small, becoming the place we return to every day to connect and recharge.

So in hindsight, there could not have been a more perfect place for what happened next.

One evening in Essaouira, Morocco, we went for what I thought would be an ordinary walk along the shore. The sun was beginning to set, horses wandered through the dunes beside us, and everything felt peaceful and effortless.

Then I noticed a small picnic setup ahead.

I remember wondering who had created such a lovely little spot — and when he told me it was for us, I genuinely did not believe him. I even tried pulling him away because I was convinced we were about to sit in someone else’s carefully prepared surprise.

But eventually, I gave in and sat down. When I just had settled in and turned around, he got down on one knee.

He looked at me in a way I had never seen before — with so much love, sincerity, and emotion that for a moment everything else disappeared.

And then he asked me to spend the rest of my life with him.

With tears in my eyes and more happiness than I can put into words, I said yes.

I feel incredibly lucky to have found someone who brings so much joy, comfort, and laughter into my life. Someone who makes ordinary days feel extraordinary and who reminds me every day what it means to be deeply loved.

That evening was not only the beginning of our next chapter — it felt like a beautiful reminder of where our story began.

And now, somehow, it feels only right that the place that first brought us together will also be the place where we say our vows.
